Self Defence / Eskrima classes

Eskrima (Kali/Arnis) is a highly effective self defence weapon based system. This style focuses on sticks, knives and machetes. It also implements ground work, takedowns and strikes including punches, kicks, elbows and knees. This class is also designed to be low impact and not a “physical” or “hard” martial art. It is perfect for people of all ages and physical fitness.

One of the most effective things about this style of training is that everything you do with the weapons translates into “empty hand”. This allows the practitioner to not only effectively defend themselves with weapons but also without them.

Our main focus is to prepare you for the rigours (both mentally and physically) of real life self defence scenarios. Much like Krav Maga, Eskrima is about disabling your opponents as quickly and effectively as possible.

Our syllabus is structured from day one and every level is broken down into what we feel is a really balanced and effective approach. This ensures that you become a well-rounded practitioner. We have monthly progress checks which ensure your progression. We also offer gradings which allow you to progress towards your Black Belt and beyond. Gradings in this style are conducted 4 times per year.

As an eskrimador in our program, you are also welcome to use the academy at any time to get in some mat time to further implement your syllabus.
